- Lightweight. We make every effort to reduce weight without adding expense.
- Forward centre of gravity. Attention to C of G ensures the control bar stays as far forward as we can get it, improving control and safety.
- Materials - Mil spec webbing, aircraft grade aluminium (6061-T6), hi tensile, stainless or aviation grade bolts. We only use the most suitable materials for the job.
- Aerodynamic Low Drag harness.
- The backplate is hinged to the main frame, providing better support and a more solid connection between you and your harness for take-off. This also allows an upright hang position for landing, and folds over the rear section for easier transport and storage.
- Outer harness skin is fully replaceable - make an old harness like new, or match your new glider.
- Pockets for dual radios, or a radio and camera. Small items pocket integrated with radio pockets.
- Landing legs fully retract and magnetically latch with a single pull on the leg zip cord - no more pulling the zip, then clipping each leg away individually.
- All zipper pull and leg cords self-retract to reduce snagging hazard and tidy the harness.
- Fail-safe backup leg loops.
- The parachute ripcord incorporates a simple, reliable kill switch which automatically stops the engine as soon as the parachute is released.
- Main storage compartment is accessible from the top - no need to crawl under your harness for that last minute stowage.
- No protruding bolts etc near flying wires.
- Side/internal mount parachute container, accesible with both hands. Reduced drag, lower centre of gravity (due to ability to hang closer to base bar) for lighter control forces.
- Alternative removeable chest mount reserve with special recessed vertically oriented ripcord handle to avoid accidental deployments also available.
- Heat resistant (kevlar) parachute bridle cover is standard. Provides protection from hot engine parts in case of parachute deployment.
- Main zippers are on Velcro for emergency exit and easy replacement.
- Harness design and manufacture to meet DHV, CEN and DULV standards.(not yet submitted for testing) The harness support structure is designed and sewn to the same specifications as free-fall skydiving harnesses!
- Available soon in a short pack version that will fit in the boot (trunk) of most cars. This option can also significantly reduce freight costs.
- Compact mouth/base bar throttle is compatible with full face helmets, has integrated quick release cruise control and the Explorers' convenient base bar clip. It retracts and stows neatly on the shoulder when not in use. A single throttle control means less parts to fail and no need to let go of the base bar when adjusting power.
- Starter & choke and brake & kill switch are grouped so they can be operated simultaneously with one hand for easy starting and stopping while keeping control of the glider.
- Kill switch is push off/pull on type to help prevent accidental engine starting, and to ensure a quick tap of the switch is all that's needed to stop the engine when you are busy flying the glider.
- Nylon lined control cables give light consistent control action.
- Protected starter switch to avoid accidental engine starts.
- Remote (blow) carburettor primer for instant starting even after long periods engine off.
- Fast, light and secure quick release nose hook for easy setup and pack up.
- Seperate engine/drive sub-frame. No loss of strength in alloy frame tubes from welding. May allow for future upgrade to alternative engine without needing a complete new frame. Also permits individual frame components to be replaced in the event of damage.
- Optional Internal fuel tank will be available soon. Simpler setup and more aerodynamic.
- Proven Radne engine is incredibly light, reliable and durable. Other engines may be introduced when we are confident of their long term suitability.
- Tuned and silenced exhaust for more power and less noise, modified for better durability.
- Aerodynamic intake silencer. Carbon Fibre optional.
- Efficient folding or fixed carbon fibre prop by Bolly, a global leader in small aircraft props.
- Chrome molybdenum propshaft with hardened ends for durability.
